Family Physician
Dr. Nupur Ackermans (°1984) graduated as a general practitioner from K.U. Leuven in 2012. During her studies, she also obtained the ECG diploma and passed the United States Medical Licensing Exam.
In addition to her work as a GP, she has been working for Kind en Gezin (preventive healthcare for babies and young children) since 2010. She is particularly interested in the physical and emotional development of young children, and strives to reassure them during consultations.
She has recently completed several psychotherapy courses with Ybe Casteleyn, Bessel van der Kolk and Gabor Maté, among others. Her main interest is in the psychology of trauma in the broadest sense. This interest stems from her own experience of adoption. This additional training enables her to offer a holistic approach.
She is the proud mother of two sons, Josiah and Thiago. She therefore considers a healthy work-life balance a priority.
In her spare time, she enjoys singing in the choir “De Kleine Johannes” and playing music as a violinist in the musical ensemble “Cr3scendo”.
